I first journeyed to Los Cabos – San Lucas and San Jose in 1984. It was deserted. Its unique beauty of desert meets the ocean creating a stunning, magical landscape. I recently returned to find that it has been discovered, filled with tourists enjoying the rare splendor. I spent the day with a friend at Lover’s Beach, Playa de los Enamorados. It was a beautiful, filled with exploration and photo-taking.
My husband and I first visited this beach immediately after I produced The Groundlings entry into the 1984 Olympic Arts Festival, starring the incomparable Phil Hartman. We were bone tired and Baja replenished our soul. We stayed at The Twin Dolphins which alas no longer exists. We spent most of a magical day at Lovers’ Beach alone. Later we were joined by Sam Elliott and Katherine Ross on their honeymoon in Los Cabos. There was plenty of room on the beach for two sets of lovers.
