The skies of the Bay of Banderas as filled with birds. We have seabirds, frigatebirds, pelicans, and some gulls. Around our home, we have several red-necked vultures that circle the area making all is clean and tidy. Small hawks keep the rodent population in check.
There’s the brash Great Kiskadees, bright yellow and black birds whose unique song demands attention. Swallows swooping and spinning like acrobats. Occasionally, we will spot a parrot.
Finally the chachalacas. These turkey-like birds chatter every morning, clumsily flying from branch to branch to eat tasty plant shoots and insects. Noisy creatures. Every time there is a siren, they take personal offense and chatter endlessly.
