The Bay of Banderas is a wonder, a marine mammal preserve. The Bay which rests between two states Nayarit and Jalisco cooperating to protect the sea life and the natural beauty of the bay. Humpback Whales arrive every December to mate and give birth, leaving some time in early April. The warm waters are the perfect environment for these large mammals. The University of Guadalajara has a Marine Mammal institute to study whales, dolphins, and turtles. Los Arcos rise from one of the deepest parts of the Bay. There is wonderful deep-sea diving around the huge rocks. Many sea birds make Los Arcos their home nesting there for protection.
I take special joy in observing them every day and at various times during the day. Every glimpse is unique and beautiful.
I want to reiterate that this is another print that is beautiful on fine art paper with a deckled edge. The torn edge mimics watercolor paper and the texture of this elegant paper makes these pelicans look mighty fine.
